- 1822- the Chios massacre occurred. Tens of thousand of Greeks were killed by Ottoman troops
- 10/25/1822 to 12/31/1822- the first siege of Missolonghi occured. The Ottoman Empire were trying to capture the Greek town of Missolinghi, but the Greek won
- 9/20/1823 to 11/30/1823- the second siege of Missolonghi occured. The Ottoman Empire tried again to capture the town of Missolonghi, but the Greek won again
- 11/6/1825- the third siege of Missolonghi occured. This time, the Ottoman won and captured the town of Missolonghi
- 4/10-11/1826- the sortie of Missolonghi occured. The people captured inside of the town tried to escape, but only 1000 people could. About 8000 people died
- 6/21/1826 to 8/28/1826- the Ottoman/Egyptian invasion of mani occured. The ottoman, with the help of Egypt, invaided Mani. This invasion includes three battles. The battle of Vergas, Diro, and Polytsaravo. Overall, the Greek won.
- 7/6/1827- the treaty of London was signed. This treaty was firstly going to allow Greece to be seen as an independent state, but the Ottoman Empire refused to sign it. Their decision allowed the United Kingdom, France, and Russia to intervene in the battle of Narvarino on behalf of Greece
- 10/20/1827- the battle of Narvarino occured. It was a battle between the three powers (United Kingdom, France, and Russia) and the Ottoman Empire with the help of Egypt.
