Summary
The Greek war of independance was a war between Greece and the Ottoman Empire. It lasted from 3/6/1821 to 7/21/1832 (this was 11 years, 4 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day). It's battles took place in Balkans and the Aegean Sea.
The war went on for 11 years with many battles, captures, and deaths. Then in 7/6/1827, the three powers (united kingdom, france, and russia) decided to intervene in the war. The treaty of france is signed. This treaty was firstly going to allow Greece to be seen as an imdependant state, but the Ottoman Empire refused to sign it. Their decision allowed the three powers to intervene in the battle of Narvarino on behalf of Greece. The three powers won the battle, thus ending the war.
At the end of the war, the Greek won and they establish the kingdom of Greece. The end of this war left a big after math, with Britain, Russia, and France becoming major roles in Greek politics, a dynast imported from the German state of Bavarian became ruler, and the Greek then has a mercenary army. The end of this war also marked an important event of the fall of the Ottoman Empire.
